The foundation provides grants for students and faculty doing research with the CCMS. The goal of this program is to provide unique, place-based educational experiences about the natural history, ecology, chemistry, geology, oceanography, and conservation of California central coast marine environments including specific technical skills that are learned hands-on with state-of-the-art training and equipment. Training includes field data collection for long term data sets, experimental manipulation in labs and the field, the creation and operation of sensing/measurement technologies, data analysis via advanced statistical and computational techniques, and science communication skills.
